![]() ![]() Anyway, I adore this series and think that everyone in the world should read it. Basta is one of the first literary villains that legitimately terrified me as a child, and I still find him scary today. Doria, Farid, the martens, Elinor, Darius… the list goes on and on. Dustfinger is my favorite, of course, but as a writer facing writer’s block, I gained even more appreciation for Fenoglio, who is spot on as a writer. And the characters in the series are all so amazing. Inkdeath brings it all to a nailbiting but inevitable conclusion. Inkspell brings a new world to life with apparent ease. ![]() Inkheart is amazingly creative, and unlike anything else I have ever read. Usually I have a favorite or a least favorite novel in a series, but all three are remarkable for different reasons. It is also amazing how the first book is so different than the second two (Inkspell and Inkdeath are more traditional high fantasy) but all three of them are exceptionally high quality. If I had to recommend one book to all people who love to read, Inkheart would be it. All the comments about books are so, so true. I forgot just how much I love Funke’s words. ![]() I wrote a research paper on him, so it felt appropriate to put him on the graduation hat.Īnd then ended up rereading all three books. Every author listed here is was* a favorite of mine. ![]()
